Today’s my stop on the Happy Flower Quilts Blog Hop. So, I have to share with you one of my favorite sewing/quilting books of all time…Happy Flower Quilts by Atsuko Matsuyama 松山敦子. I first saw the original Japanese version when in San Fransisco years back and got it right then, that quilt on the cover, right??
So when I learned it was being translated into English by zakkaworkshop, I internally jumped for joy. Then I jumped some more when I got an advance copy to start sewing from. If you haven’t looked through it yet, and cute Japanese sewing is your calling, then you need this book in your library. If not for the sewing, then for the really pretty pictures inside.
I decided to sew the lunch set since that’s always been my favorite project to look at in the book. I paired it with some of my upcoming fabric, Bunnies & Cream that’s due at at the end of this month!
I added a little cross-stitch label for the snack bag and used some lace, trim, and fabric that came from my late grandma’s stash.
It came out pretty darn girly which I love. I finally have a cute lunch tote I can use my cutesy bento boxes with. Though I’m sure I’ll be packing lunches for my daughter rather than me with it. ;D
Here’s the full Line-Up
